Business Begins!

I put out a few notices yesterday that I will start selling cakes and other confections, and I already have a wedding cake order! I am so excited. :) Hopefully this is the start of something beautiful. I am calling my business Stepford Sweets.

We have new neighbors. I plan on making some cake bites for them early this week to welcome them to the neighborhood. :)

As much as I hate summer due to the heat, it's a truly magical time for me, always. All of the best things always happen in the summer.

Worst Week

Emotionally, this week has been fine. Good, even. Physically, it has been awful. It has rained all week, and my bones feel like they're on fire every day. My house STILL isn't clean, even though I've been trying, and I just want to sleep (especially after going to a midnight movie last night with Walter and some co-workers). Alas, there is too much to be done.

Tomorrow one of Walter's co-workers is having a party, and I am baking some themed sugar cookies later today. I am also making a recipe from Jessica Seinfeld's Deceptively Delicious. My sister gave me the book for Christmas last year, but I have yet to use it. From what I understand, there is some controversy surrounding the book, but I am not interested in that. I will blog the recipe in my food blog tonight and let you know the results.

Monetary Gain

I am so excited! A woman my mother works with wants me to make a cake for her daughter's birthday in June, and she is going to pay me for it! It is possible that this won't happen, as the daughter wants the cake to be in the shape of a cheetah, and I do not think I am good enough to do that quite yet. I told my mother to talk to her about it and see if a cake with cheetahs on it would be acceptable, and that I would be charging fifty dollars for it. This would be my first paid cake, and I hope it happens!

I have also added ads to my food blog. I get paid by the click (3-5 cents per click, generally), and so far I have made ten dollars. This is not much, but Walter says that if you make money at it, you are a professional. I suppose this makes me a professional food blogger. ;)

All else is going well. My sister and are doing fabulously now. Her shower is April 26. My last therapy appointment is the following day. The therapist has already said that I can quit, but I wanted to go a few more times, just to make sure things were running smoothly. Walter and I are doing well. Everything is fabulous. :)

Amateur

Today, I did my weekly baking for Walter's office. I burned my stomach, dropped one batch of cookies on the floor, and one batch came out flat. Ugh. But most of them turned out okay and are ready to be sent to work tomorrow.

My house feels like a mess. Everyone keeps telling me that it is clean, but I feel like I have been falling dreadfully behind. My sister is coming over on Saturday, so I will be baking her a cake . I will also be covering it with homemade fondant, a first for me, so we shall see how things work out.

I just feel so...behind. Unprofessional. Ugh.

Lackluster

I realize that I have little desire to keep this blog going anymore. I usually have to force myself to write entries. So, I will not be updating regularly anymore...just if there is something super housewifey and important that I want to share. Fear not, though. My food blog will still be updated once or twice a week, as usual. And I am not giving up on this blog. I am merely going to cease in writing boring entries about the laundry. If I make something fantastic or find a great deal somewhere, I'll post about it. Do not miss me much. :)

I started therapy today. I think it will be a good thing.
